French connection

In 1969, France's connection was rejected by almost every major studio, but D'Antoni established a shop in the National General Pictures. Apart from D'Antoni's insistence that the film "only" will cost $ 4.5 million, the studio dropped the project after it was reported that the D'Antoni budget was actually closer to $ 9 million. However, the studio then withdrew the statement and the film then became a big hit.

While many filmmakers prefer to celebrate doubtful tactics and excessive action scenes, Friedkin's film is a gloomy depiction from the underworld of the drug trafficking. The characters are interrogated and exposed in this film, revealing grit and rough reality of drug trafficking. The film director, William Friedkin, did not want to appreciate the action of the police, and this film contained many bottles of garbage and pills.

In France's connection, two New York narcotics police began the mission to break the large drug rings in France. They are motivated by the possibility that they have been tapped during the failed international agreement. They will then pass through Turkey and Canada to get to the United States, and from there, a group of Korsika criminals will take over. They were funded by the money stolen from the French Gestapo agent during the German occupation in France. They also received CIA assistance, providing money to get rid of Corsica Communists in 1947.

This film is famous for its iconic car pursuing sequence. Popeye Doyle pursued Nicoli while he led the L train in the air above. The order of this action is the culmination of the brainstorming session Friedkin and D'Antoni. D'Antoni demanded that the pursuit of the film's car would be better than Bullitt. The result is a film that encourages real world resources to the limit.

This is not an adaptation of the first cop film to reach the screen. Based on real events, "The French Connection" focused on the statue of real life narcotics in New York in the early 60s. The film stars Eddie Egan and Sonny Grosso as NYPD detectives who break the famous drug operations. Apart from the fact that Jehan has never faced justice, this film is one of the first time a police officer must work outside the law.

Friedkin and D'Antoni worked together at Fox when they produce The french connection the pornostarz album. Zanuck and Brown previously worked together in the film industry, but were fired shortly after it was released. Brown remembered that they had to pay their film tickets. The authenticity of this film is also a proof of Friedkin's skills as a director. This film is still classic in many ways, and Friedkin's approach is widely admired in film making.
